Hit and Run Leads to DUI Charge

William F. Sommers III, 29, is facing driving under the influence charges after he hit a parked car with his truck and driving away in Bath, Pennsylvania.

Around 10 p.m. on Valentine's night, two police officers witnessed Sommers hit the parked car and tried to drive away. Sommers was soon after stopped by the cops.

The cops conducted several field sobriety tests in which Sommers failed. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.14.

The legal limit for motorists in Pennsylvania is .08 percent, same as California.

According to police, Sommers smelled of alcohol and told the officers he did not know he hit the parked vehicle.

Sommers was arraigned and charged with driving under the influence and with "accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property."

In Los Angeles, California the legal limit of blood alcohol content is .08 and anything above that is illegal and can result in a DUI.
