Grandma Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
|
Marie Shipley, 55, was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony DUI after deputies responded to a report of a possibly drunken driver dragging a child.
"It was discovered that she had been drinking beer and appeared intoxicated," Sheriff's Deputy Paul Schraeder said. "Shipley had been driving drunk in the park with her three male juvenile grandchildren in the vehicle."
Her grandkids - 7, 11, and 13- were arguing, and she yelled at them to stop.
"When Shipley slowed down, the 7-year-old attempted to get back into the moving vehicle. As Shipley started to accelerate away, the boy fell to the ground and was injured," Schraeder stated.
According to the sheriff's department, Shipley was held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court in Lancaster Wednesday.
