| Are Sports Fans More Likely to get a DUI? |
| Posted By Admin |
 |
The University of Minnesota conducted a study which determined that one in every 12 fans leaves a major sporting event while intoxicated. Researchers measured the blood alcohol content of 382 adults who had attended baseball and football games and found that 8% of the fans registered a blood alcohol content in excess of the legal limit. Those who participated in tailgating before a game were 14 times more likely to be drunk when leaving the sports venue.
The researchers conducted the study by approaching fans at professional sporting events and asking them to submit to an anonymous breath test and answer a five minute survey. An average of 20 fans per event participated in the study. 58% of them were male, and 55% were between the ages of 21 and 35.
A major concern is that the intoxicated fans are likely to be driving home, which could lead to drunk driving accidents and injuries. If you or someone you know is facing a DUI charge, you will need an experienced and qualified attorney on your side. The DUI attorneys at the

A goat was confiscated from a suspected drunk driver after a CA highway patrol officer stopped the car Tuesday night. When authorities stopped the car they found the goat riding shotgun. The driver remained inside the car while the passenger in the back seat attempted to run away but fell down. "It just sounds like they were on a drunken joyride, and the goat became their new buddy along the way," said John Welsh, spokesman for the Riverside County Animal Services Department. The goat was taken to the new Western Riverside County Animal Shelter and is waiting for its owner or to be adopted.
